Psalm 128: Group Study Handout

How to use: read Psalm 128 aloud together, then take the questions in order. One page is enough for an evening.

Overview

Blessed is everyone who fears Yahweh and walks in his ways (vv. 1-2). They will enjoy the fruits of their labor and experience happiness. Their wife will be like a fruitful vine in their home, and their children will be like olive plants around their table (vv. 3-4). The psalmist declares that this is the blessing for the man who fears Yahweh. He then prays that Yahweh blesses them from Zion and allows them to see the good in Jerusalem throughout their lives (vv. 5-6). He concludes with a wish for peace upon Israel, including seeing their children's children.
