Terms of Service

1. Who we are, and acceptance

ScriptureDepth is operated by a Norwegian sole proprietorship (enkeltpersonforetak), organisation number 937 473 737, registered in Norway (“we”, “us”). Contact: hello@scripturedepth.com. Our postal address is available on request.

By using ScriptureDepth, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

How we handle your personal data is described separately in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

2. Minimum age

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. Norway sets the age at which a child can consent to online services at 13 (personopplysningsloven § 5). If you are under 18, you may need a parent or guardian's agreement before buying anything, and you should ask them first.

3. Use of the service

ScriptureDepth is provided for personal, non-commercial Bible study purposes. You may not:

• Use automated tools to scrape or bulk-download content
• Attempt to abuse or circumvent the AI chat rate limits
• Use the service for any unlawful purpose
• Share your account credentials with others

4. AI-generated content

ScriptureDepth uses AI to generate chapter summaries, topic explanations, and chat responses. While we take care to ensure accuracy, AI-generated content may contain errors. Do not rely solely on ScriptureDepth for theological or doctrinal decisions. Always consult the actual text of Scripture and qualified teachers.

5. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. Notify us immediately at hello@scripturedepth.com if you believe your account has been compromised.

6. Paid plans and study packs

ScriptureDepth Pro is a subscription. Study packs are one-off purchases of a downloadable PDF. Current prices are shown on the pricing page and again at checkout before you pay; the price you see at checkout is the price you pay, in the currency shown there.

• Payment is handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
• Renewal. A subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual, as chosen) until you cancel.
• Cancellation. You can cancel at any time from your account page or by emailing us. Cancelling stops the next renewal; your Pro access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not charge a cancellation fee.
• Price changes apply from your next renewal only, and we will tell you before they take effect so you can cancel first.
• Failed payment. If a renewal payment fails, Pro access may be suspended until payment succeeds.

7. Your right to withdraw (14 days)

If you are a consumer in Norway or the EEA, you have 14 days from entering the contract to withdraw from it, without giving a reason, under the Norwegian Right of Withdrawal Act (angrerettloven). To withdraw, tell us at hello@scripturedepth.com within those 14 days — a plain message is enough, and you may use the standard withdrawal form. We refund what you paid within 14 days of receiving your notice, using the same payment method.

When the right is lost for digital content delivered immediately. Pro access and study packs are digital content supplied without a physical medium, and they start working as soon as payment goes through. Under angrerettloven § 22(n) your right of withdrawal is lost only where all four of the following are true:

• the contract obliges you to pay;
• you gave express prior consent for delivery to begin during the 14-day withdrawal period;
• you acknowledged that by doing so you lose your right of withdrawal once delivery has begun; and
• we gave you confirmation of the contract on a durable medium, in accordance with angrerettloven § 18 — the receipt email we send after purchase.

If any one of those is missing, your 14-day right stands and we will refund you on request. And regardless of the legal position: if ScriptureDepth is not what you expected, email us and we will sort it out.

8. Availability

We aim to keep ScriptureDepth available at all times but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the service at any time.

If we discontinue a paid feature you have already paid for, we will refund the unused part of what you paid.

9. Intellectual property

The ScriptureDepth platform, design, and original content are owned by ScriptureDepth. Scripture on this site is the World English Bible, which is in the public domain and free of copyright restrictions; it is the only translation we publish or quote, including in AI answers. AI-generated summaries are provided for study purposes.

10. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law. In particular, we do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for intent or gross negligence, or any right you have as a consumer under mandatory Norwegian law — including angrerettloven and the consumer protection rules that apply to a defective digital service.

Subject to that, ScriptureDepth is provided “as is”: we do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that AI-generated content will be accurate. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or lost data, and our total liability arising out of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

11. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Norwegian law. Disputes go to the ordinary Norwegian courts, with Oslo tingrett as the agreed venue. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory law in your country of residence, or of your right to bring proceedings in the courts there.

Before going to court, you are welcome to raise it with us directly. Consumers in Norway may also take a complaint to Forbrukerrådet (forbrukerradet.no), which can refer it to the Consumer Complaints Committee.
