ScriptureDepth

Copyright and Scripture Attribution

Last reviewed: 21 August 2026

This is the dedicated copyright and attribution page for every translation ScriptureDepth publishes. It exists so a reader — and a directory reviewer — can see, in one place, which Bible text we use and which we do not.

The World English Bible (WEB)

Every word of Scripture this site publishes is the World English Bible. The WEB is in the public domain and free of copyright restrictions. It is the only translation we publish or quote, including in AI answers. Verse text on chapter pages, topic pages, devotionals, and the blog is fetched from our WEB corpus rather than written from memory, and quotations are labelled (WEB).

The World English Bible is an update of the American Standard Version (1901) produced by Rainbow Missions, Inc. Because it is public domain, we can show it in full and for free. We are grateful for that work.

Translations we are not licensed for

ScriptureDepth is not licensed to reproduce the ESV, NIV, NLT, NASB, CSB, NKJV, NRSV, The Message, the Amplified Bible, or any other modern copyrighted translation. We do not publish their wording on this site. Comparing versions is worth doing in your own Bible or a licensed app; we will not do it by pasting their text here.

AI answers

When you ask a Bible question, we work out which passages the question needs and look up their actual text in our copy of the World English Bible — the same public-domain text you read on the chapter pages. Those verses are handed to the model. It is only allowed to quote from what it was given. It never types a verse out from memory.

The model may name a reference. It may never supply copyrighted verse text. Where a passage was not retrieved, it cites the reference and explains in its own words rather than quoting. That is the same doctrine as Terms 6 and How We Use AI.

Site content

The ScriptureDepth platform, design, and original content (summaries, guides, UI) are owned by ScriptureDepth. AI-generated summaries are provided for study purposes. Scripture itself, on this site, is the WEB.
