Cookie Policy
Last updated: 4 September 2026
This page lists everything ScriptureDepth stores in your browser — cookies, localStorage and sessionStorage — and who sets it. It sits alongside the Privacy Policy, which explains the legal basis for each purpose. Sites you click through to — Amazon, Stripe, Google sign-in — set their own storage on their own domains once you get there; that is theirs and is covered by their notices, not by this list.
Everything listed is strictly necessary for something you asked the site to do. We set no analytics cookie and no advertising cookie, and no third-party tracking script runs in your browser, so there is no banner to answer and nothing to opt out of.
Strictly necessary
Needed to sign you in, keep the site secure, and finish things you started. These do not require consent because the site cannot deliver what you asked for without them.
sb-<project>-auth-token (and its numbered .0 / .1 chunks)
Keeps you signed in and refreshes your session. Without it you would have to log in on every page.
Set by: ScriptureDepth via Supabase · Lifetime: Session token refreshed continuously; cleared on sign-out
sb-<project>-auth-token-code-verifier
Short-lived PKCE verifier used while you are being sent to Google and back during sign-in.
Set by: ScriptureDepth via Supabase · Lifetime: Minutes — deleted as soon as the sign-in completes
sd_autocheckout, sd_autocheckout_pack (localStorage)
Remembers which plan or study pack you clicked before signing in, so checkout resumes where you left off instead of dumping you on the pricing page.
Set by: ScriptureDepth · Lifetime: Until used, or until you clear site data
sd_upgrade_tracked (sessionStorage)
Marks that the current upgrade has already been handled, so returning from Stripe does not repeat it.
Set by: ScriptureDepth · Lifetime: Until the browser tab is closed
sd_pack_tracked_<pack> (sessionStorage)
Marks that a completed study pack purchase has already been counted, so refreshing the page after Stripe does not record it twice.
Set by: ScriptureDepth · Lifetime: Until the browser tab is closed
sd-plan-progress:<plan> (localStorage)
Which days of a reading plan you have ticked off, so progress survives a refresh even when you are not signed in.
Set by: ScriptureDepth · Lifetime: Until you clear site data
sd_chapter_text_size (localStorage)
Remembers the text size you chose with the Aa button on a chapter page, so the Bible text opens at that size next time.
Set by: ScriptureDepth · Lifetime: Until you clear site data
sd_me (sessionStorage)
A 60-second cache of whether you are signed in and whether you have Pro, so the navigation bar does not flash the wrong state on every page. It holds those flags only — no name, no email.
Set by: ScriptureDepth · Lifetime: 60 seconds, and in any case only until the tab is closed
Measurement without cookies
Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights count page views and page-load timings. They set no cookies and store no identifier that can be traced back to you. A few button and link clicks, and completed purchases, are counted through our own server and forwarded to Google Analytics under a random one-off id, with no cookie and none of your details. We list these because you should know they exist, not because they need your permission.
Affiliate links
Some articles link to books on Amazon with an Amazon Associates tag in the address, so Amazon can credit a purchase to this site. See the Affiliate Disclosure. Those links set nothing in your browser while you are here: the attribution is the tag in the link, and any cookie Amazon uses is set on Amazon's own site after you click through, under Amazon's privacy notice rather than ours.
Clicking one of those links is counted through our own server as an affiliate_click event saying which article and which product it was, under a random one-off id. Nothing about you travels with it.
Deleting what is stored
Signing out clears the session cookie. Everything else above can be removed through your browser's site-data settings at any time; the site keeps working, you simply start from a fresh state.
