Psalm 149: Group Study Handout

How to use: read Psalm 149 aloud together, then take the questions in order. One page is enough for an evening.

Overview

'Praise Yahweh!' comes first, then a call to sing him a new song in the assembly of the saints. Israel is to rejoice in him who made them, and the children of Zion in their King (vv. 1-2). The praise takes bodily form: his name praised in the dance and sung with tambourine and harp, because Yahweh takes pleasure in his people and 'crowns the humble with salvation'. The saints rejoice in honor and sing for joy on their beds (vv. 3-5).
