Psalm 25: Group Study Handout

How to use: read Psalm 25 aloud together, then take the questions in order. One page is enough for an evening.

Overview

The psalmist lifts up his soul to Yahweh, expressing trust and a desire for salvation (vv. 1-2). He waits for Yahweh, asking for guidance and truth, acknowledging that Yahweh is the God of his salvation (vv. 3-5). The psalmist requests Yahweh to remember His loving kindness and mercy, seeking forgiveness for his sins (vv. 6-7). He notes that Yahweh is good and upright, and will instruct sinners and guide the humble (vv. 8-10). Those who fear Yahweh will receive instruction and blessings, and His friendship is with them (vv. 11-14). The psalmist pleads for deliverance from affliction, as he looks to Yahweh for refuge (vv. 15-20). He asks for integrity to preserve him and requests redemption for Israel from all its troubles (vv. 21-22).
