Psalm 54: Group Study Handout

How to use: read Psalm 54 aloud together, then take the questions in order. One page is enough for an evening.

Overview

The psalmist cries for help, asking God to save him by his name and to vindicate him with might (vv. 1-2). He describes the threat he faces from strangers and violent men who seek his life, noting that they do not acknowledge God (vv. 3-4). Despite this danger, the psalmist expresses confidence in God's deliverance. He declares that God will repay the evil done to him and destroy his enemies in truth (vv. 5-7). He promises to offer sacrifices and give thanks to God for His goodness and rescue from trouble.
