“Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, give I to you. Don’t let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful.”

Embrace His Peace
In John 14, Jesus is speaking to his disciples, offering comfort and assurance as he prepares them for his departure. Before this verse, he promises the coming of the Holy Spirit, and after, he continues to reassure them, urging against fear. The verse's wording emphasizes a contrast: Jesus gives peace 'not as the world gives.' This suggests a difference in the nature or quality of the peace Jesus offers compared to worldly peace. Consider today what brings you peace. Is it temporary and worldly, or does it resemble the deeper, enduring peace Jesus describes? Take a moment to reflect on how you might welcome his peace into your heart.
