“Most certainly I tell you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains by itself alone. But if it dies, it bears much fruit. He who loves his life will lose it. He who hates his life in this world will keep it to eternal life. If anyone serves me, let him follow me. Where I am, there will my servant also be. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him.”

Finding Life in Surrender
In John 12:24-26, Jesus speaks to those around Him, including some Greeks who are seeking Him, right after His triumphal entry to Jerusalem. He uses the metaphor of a grain of wheat to explain His impending death and the resulting growth that will come from it. The verse contrasts life and death, highlighting that losing one's life in this world leads to eternal life. Consider today what it might mean to "serve" Jesus in your daily routine. Perhaps it is found in a small act of kindness or a moment of patience. Reflect on how such service might align you more closely with where He is.
