Overview

When Balaam saw that it pleased Yahweh to bless Israel, he turned from enchantments and focused on the wilderness (vv. 1-2). The Spirit of God came upon him, and he delivered his first oracle, proclaiming the beauty of Israel’s dwelling and the strength of its king.
