ScriptureDepth's study of Ezekiel 45

“You shall have just balances, a just ephah, and a just bath.

Ezekiel 45:10

Yahweh commands the princes of Israel to maintain fairness in trade with 'just balances', which is crucial for justice and righteousness in the land.

What Ezekiel 45 is about

Yahweh instructs the people on dividing the holy land. The land is to be measured at twenty-five thousand reeds long and ten thousand wide. A holy section will be reserved for priests and the sanctuary (vv. 1-4). The Levites receive a portion of the land along with the city, measuring twenty-five thousand by ten thousand (vv. 5-6). The prince's land shall be positioned on both sides of the holy offering and the city (vv. 7-8). Yahweh calls the leaders to stop violence and plunder, insisting on justice and fairness in their dealings (vv. 9-12). The offerings to Yahweh require specific amounts from the people, including grains and animals for atonement (vv. 13-17). Cleansing rituals begin on the first day of the month with a young bull, and similar rituals are to occur as needed (vv. 18-20). The Passover requires special offerings over seven days, followed by offerings during another feast in the seventh month (vv. 21-25).

Yahweh commands that justice is to be upheld and correct offerings are to be made for atonement.
