For Yahweh has chosen Zion. He has desired it for his habitation.

Psalms 132:13

Yahweh declares to His people that Zion is chosen as His dwelling place, establishing it as central to His presence and future blessings.

What Psalm 132 is about

David remembers his affliction and his vow to Yahweh, declaring that he will not rest until he finds a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob (vv. 1-5). The psalmist recounts hearing about the Ark in Ephrathah and finding it in the field of Jaar. The people express their intent to worship at Yahweh's footstool (vv. 6-10). Yahweh swears to David that the fruit of his body will sit on the throne if his children keep His covenant and testimony (vv. 11-12). God chooses Zion as His habitation, saying it will be His resting place forever, promising to bless its provision and satisfy the poor (vv. 13-15). Additionally, Yahweh will make the horn of David bud and will clothe his enemies with shame, while David will wear a resplendent crown (vv. 16-18).

Yahweh promises to bless Zion and ensure David’s lineage continues on the throne forever.
